Our business history
ESC Custom Homes' contractor/builder John R. Concoby was born and raised near Cleveland, Ohio, to parents of Finnish ancestry. John built his first home when he was 21, after apprenticing to two family friends who were also 100% Finn. Finns are known for quality craftsmanship, and John was taught well. His teachers, both custom homebuilders, would not allow shortcuts or shoddiness of any kind. If his work did not meet or exceed their high standards, he was told to rip it out and begin again. As a result of their caring and training, and his own innate talent and dedication, John still builds with the thought in mind of meeting or exceeding his teachers' expectations.
John built custom homes in Ohio for a number of years. In 1987 he moved to the Ozarks, where he continues to build custom houses with all of the care and passion instilled in him by his early teachers. What makes us unique
We invite you to compare our quality. For the exterior of your house, we use Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs). The engineered panels mean straighter walls and less maintenance, and your home is completed in less time. For the foundation, we use Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs), so your basement won't have that awful moldy smell. Have you ever marveled at the fact that 1/8" of Styrofoam can keep boiling hot coffee from burning your hand? It is the Styrofoam that makes the SIPs and ICFs so energy-efficient.
